FAQs

what is the process to get a haul booked?

Reach out to Clarissa via email, text/call, or FB messenger to discuss locations, date(s), and horse(s). Clarissa will email a hauling waiver that must be filled out prior to your horse loading. A quote will be provided once both addresses are given. Additional costs may be incurred if your horse is a nervous loader and needs more time. Once on the calendar, there is no deposit needed and Clarissa will check in a few days before your haul.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations outside of the 72hr (3 days) period incur no fees. Cancellations 3 days prior incur a 25% fee of the quoted rate, 2 days before or 48hrs, incur a 50% fee and day of cancellations will require the full quoted amount.

What should i provide for my horse?

Whatever will keep your horse the most comfortable. Blue Ribbon encourages the use of fly masks, traveling boots and a comfortable halter but recognizes that some horses require tail guards, helmets, or are not accustomed to traveling, in which case less is more. Except in rare cases, we do not haul with blankets or coolers on. We recommend you provide hay that your horse is used to and high value treats if you have a nervous loader.

Can i bring tack or hay?

Yes, our trailers have enough room to accommodate multiple tack trunks, horse show set up and hay bales. There may be an additional fee for higher amounts of items.

do you have a back up hauler?

There are not many legal haulers in the immediate vicinity. Blue Ribbon has US Riders insurance and has contacts in California, Canada and Washington with other USDOT drivers as well as back up trailers if needed.

Is Blue Ribbon Transport insured and Licensed?

Yes, we are commercially insured and licensed with FMCSA with USDOT #4116724 and MC#1573638. We do not have cargo insurance at this time as our hauling quotes would rise significantly. If it’s important to you that your horse is covered on the trip, you must have your horse insured or seek insurance prior.
